You will visit the museum - fortress of Erebuni and the Matenadaran in Yerevan, the ancient pagan temple of Garni and the monastery  complex of Gegard.
In Georgia you will see  natural  beauty of Javakhk, the ancient fortress of Khertvisi and the cave city of Vardziya, and also ancient and modern history of fortress Rabath.

Day 1. Welcome to Armenia!

 Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. After accommodation and rest our guide picks you up in the hotel, and you'll start get acquainted with Yerevan. You will visit the museum - fortress of Erebuni (782 BC) and the National museum of History, the Matenadaran – the Institute of ancient manuscripts, Tsitsernakaberd – the Memorial complex of the victims of genocide in 1915. The city tour will end visiting    to <> brandy factory where you taste best sorts of Armenian brandy. In the evening you can have a walk on the main square of Yerevan and enjoy colorful dancing fountains, walk on the Northern Avenue which is built up with modern buildings, or just sit in a cozy cafe around a cup of coffee.


Day 2. Garni – Gegard 

Breakfast in the hotel. You'll have a trip to Garni (1 century AD), the former summer residence of the Armenian kings, and the only pagan temple of the Sun preserved on the territory of Armenia. The excursion continues to the monastery complex of Gegard (12–13 centuries), listed in the world cultural heritage by UNESCO.

Return to Yerevan. Free evening.

Day 3. Yerevan – Gyumri – Bavra – Khertvisi (Georgia)

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer from the hotel to Gyumri, to the second largest city of Armenia. In Gyumri you will have a short City tour. Our guide will tell you history of this wonderful city and its people which survived after an awful earthquake. You will see new buildings and the main square of the city. We will continue our way to the north to Bavra to Armenian border with Georgia. After customs procedure you'll continue your trip to discover Georgia and to get acquainted with its history. On the way to the fortress of Khertvisi you will drive to Javakhk and admire severe beauty of this region. Arrival at Lakes Sagamo and Parvana. You will also admire the mountains of Javakhk. 

Lunch at a local cozy restaurant. You can taste   Georgian cuisines. The fortress of Khertvisi located in Samtskhe-Javakheti, in the southern part of Georgia, is  one of the most ancient fortresses of feudal period in Georgia. The fortress of Khertvisi is located on the high rocky hill in the gorge where the rivers Kura and Paravani meet. In 985 a church was constructed in the fortress. On the place of the old walls which were destroyed in the result of an earthquake of 1283, a new construction was built by 1354. In the X—XI centuries Khertvisi was the center of the region of Samtskhe-Javakheti. 

Together with the monastery complex of Vardziathe fortress is a candidate for the list of objects of the World heritage by UNESCO in Georgia. The next place deserved to see is the cave town, monastery complex of  XII—XIIIcenturies Vardzia.

Vardzia is an outstanding monument of medieval Georgian architecture. Throughout 900 m along the left bank of the Kura in a steep tuff wall of the mountain Erusheti (from Georgian means Bear) there were carved about 600 rooms: churches, chapels, inhabited cells, storerooms, baths, libraries. The ensemble of the monastery of Vardzia was created generally in 1156 — 1205, during the reign of Georgy III and his daughter queen Tamara. Now the cave monastery of Vardzia is one of the main tourist sights of the southern Georgia.

Overnight in Vardziya or in Akhaltsikhe.

Day 4. Akhaltsikhe – Fortress Rabat – Yerevan

After breakfast we go further to the northof Georgia, to Akhaltsikhe. There we will visit the fortress of  Rabath. In 2012 the complex of Rabath in Akhaltsikhe was open for public. Here ancient and modern architecture, religions and history of multicultural Georgia intertwine. You will see the restored buildings, the mosque, the orthodox church and other sights of Rabath fortress. In the territory of the fortress there are restaurants and cafes where you can have lunch; there are little shops of souvenirs and Georgian wine. After the excursion - transfer to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 5. Yerevan

Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
