PROGRAM

 

Day 1: 28.04. Transfer to the hotel Arrival in Yerevan. Meeting at the airport. Welcome dinner in a national restaurant, a master class in the preparation of national dishes Dolma. Hotel accommodation in the center of Yerevan.

 

Day 2: 29.04 Sightseeing tour in Yerevan Breakfast in the hotel. Departure from the hotel. You will get a first impression of our capital Yerevan, which is older than Rome. You will see the Northern Avenue, Swan Lake and the building of the Opera and Ballet Theater. Spendiaryan, see the vernissage paintings around the Saryan monument. Then you will go to the Cascade-architectural complex with sculptures of modern masters from around the world. A monument to the victims of the Armenian Genocide in 1915 was erected on a high hill of Tsitsernakaberd Park. This monumental composition perpetuates the memory of the innocent victims of the most severe Armenian genocide in world history. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in Yerevan.

 

Day 3: 30.04 Mergerian Carpet-Zvartnots-Etchmiadzin Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning, a trip to the Megerian Carpet factory. The production of unique hand-made carpets in Yerevan began in 2002. During the tour, you will see master classes on how to make amazing carpet products that preserve the traditions of the old Armenian culture. Then visit the ruins of Zvartnots and Echmiadzin. Near the Echmiadzin Square is a cathedral, which was founded in 301 AD. Echmiadzin is the residence of Catholics, the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church. This city is the spiritual center of the Armenian people and has a large number of churches, among which it should be noted St. Gayane (VII 630/641) and St. Hripsime (S.VII). Return to Yerevan.

 

Day 4: 01.05 Lake Sevan-Cognac Factory “Ararat”' Breakfast in the hotel. Today you will see the blue pearl of Armenia - Lake Sevan. This is the largest lake in Armenia and one of the most beautiful lakes in the Caucasus. Its crystal clear water, clean air, cliffs, wild beaches, slopes densely overgrown with forests, alpine meadows - all this will win your heart. And when you climb the peninsula to see the churches, breathtaking beauty opens up from the heights. Of course it’s impossible to visit Sevan and not to try Sevan lake fish! Return to Yerevan. After the tour, do not miss the chance to taste the famous varieties of cognac during the tour at the Ararat Brandy Factory. Tasting. Return to the hotel.

 

Day 5: 02.05 Matenadaran Museum - Garni Geghard Breakfast in the hotel. Excursion to Matenadaran - to the museum - Institute of ancient manuscripts and the center of written culture of Armenia. Matenadaran is one of the world's manuscript repositories and the largest repository of ancient Armenian manuscripts. It contains unique relics and manuscripts, copies of the first printed books, petrified elements of manuscripts that were found in caves, fragments of parchment of the Middle Ages. Next trip to Garni. Garni Temple is the former residence of Armenian kings, the only surviving pagan temple in Armenia. The next point of our tour is the Geghard monastery complex, a unique architectural structure carved into the rock, is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Return to Yerevan. The evening is free for new discoveries in Yerevan. Numerous cafes, pubs, restaurants and clubs where you can have a good time, listen to music and taste different goodies.

 

Day 6: 03.05 Khor Virap-Noravank-Jermuk Breakfast in the hotel. Visit to the monastery of Khor Virap, where the first patriarch of Armenia, St. Gregory the Illuminator, was imprisoned for many years. The monastery is located 200 meters from the border with Turkey, From here is the best views of Mount Ararat. Visit Areni Winery with tasting of different types of wines. Then the tour continues to Noravank. The most beautiful monastery complex Noravank was built in the XIII century on the ledge of a narrow winding gorge of the Arpa River. The gorge is famous for sheer red rocks towering behind the monastery. (UNESCO heritage). Then visit the resort of Jermuk. The healing properties of the mineral waters of Jermuk were known in the early Middle Ages. Healing waters, combined with a temperate climate with lots of sunny days, an abundance of forests and alpine landscapes, fast rivers, noisy waterfalls make Jermuk attractive for tourists from all over the world. Day 7: 04.05 Jermuk -Tatev- Khndzoresk-Yerevan Breakfast in the hotel. We are heading to the cave village Khndzoresk. Everything is surprising and admiring here! Buildings, some of which are located directly in the caves, an unusual natural landscape. We continue the trip by visiting one of the main religious sights of the country - the magnificent and beautiful old Tatev monastery. A tour of the ancient monastery located high in the mountains will appeal to all lovers of history and nature. In 2010, the longest cable car in the world was opened, “Tatev’s Wings” (5.7 kilometers long, the longest in the world, included in the Guinness Book of Records) that will take you to the monastery during your tour to Tatev. Return to Yerevan.

 

Day 8: 05.05 Transfer to the airport Breakfast in the hotel. Depending on the time, visit the Vernissage souvenir market, where you can purchase gifts, souvenirs, jewelry, and other handicrafts made of wood, stones, including semiprecious, silver and other materials (vernissage works only on Saturdays and Sundays). We visit the famous covered market where you can buy national sweets, herbs, spices, seasonal fruits and vegetables. Airport transfer. Departure. Bon Voyage!!
