Visa

Arrival to Armenia

The process of Armenian visa issuance is very simple and clear. For entry a foreigner must have valid passport, entry visa or a document of residency status. Foreigners enter the territory of the Republic of Armenian through border-control points.

Minor foreigners may enter Armenia accompanied by parents, a parent or any other legal representative, or if one arrives to his parents, a parent, legal representative or a receiving organization.

Visa is not required for the citizens of the  following countries holding the mentioned type of passport (based on the principle of reciprocity).

Starting from January 20, 2015 the citizens of the specified countries for whom visa-free regime applies can stay in the territory of the Republic of Armenia up to 180 days per year.

Who Needs a Visa to Visit Armenia?
A visa is required for citizens of the Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Several different visas are available at Armenian ports of entry; though the most commonly issued type is a single-entry visa valid for 21 days for a fee of 3,000 Armenian Drams (about 8 USD) which may be obtained on arrival at Zvartnots International Airport or when crossing land borders into Armenia. No letter of invitation is needed.

Invitations
The citizens of the following countries can obtain a visa to Armenia only upon invitation and only at a diplomatic representation or consular office of Armenia. The invitation must be written on the official blank of the inviting organization and must be sealed and signed by the head of the organization.

Invitations can be submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by juridical persons registered in Armenia and by authorities of Armenia and diplomatic representations or international organizations or their representatives.

Electronic Visa
Any visitor who wishes to apply for a visa with duration of 120 days or less is eligible to apply for a visa online. Applicants should have a passport that is valid for at least six months before expiration.

An electronic visa is equivalent to a conventional visa but no paper is inserted in your passport. Applications may be submitted online, verified online and in most cases, e-visas will be approved and issued online within two business days.

Visitors who obtain an electronic visa will be able to enter Armenia via the Zvartnots International Airport, Gyumri Airport, Ayrum Railway Station, and Bagratashen, Bavra, Gogavan and Megri land borders.

Visa fees, rules and regulations are subject to change without prior notice. Please visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for the latest information.

Arrival to Nagorno Karabakh

The entry of foreign citizens to the Nagorno Karabakh Republic is allowed on the availability of valid foreign passports or other documents replacing them, an entrance visa of NKR, with payment of corresponding state customs.

The NKR entrance visas are granted to foreign citizens by the NKR Permanent Mission to the Republic of Armenia. In exceptional cases, the entrance visa can be granted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the NKR in Stepanakert.

Visa support can be rendered also in tour agencies, accredited in the MFA of NKR.

The passport-visa control is placed at the highway Goris-Stepanakert, not far from the village of Aghavno (former Zabukh). Here is realized only the selective check of passport and visa, without the Customs inspection. You can be asked to show only passport and the availability of entry visa to Karabakh. In case of non-availability of the latter you will have to visit the consular department of the Ministry of RMK Foreign Affairs, where you will be given the entry visa within a few minutes.

If you are travelling by taxi or private car into Karabakh consider getting the visa in Yerevan – it is by no means necessary, but it may simplify the process when you enter the country.

Tourist’s visa untill 21 days costs 3.000 AMD

Pay your attention to the fact that the Consular Service of the RMK Ministry of foreign Affairs, the Consular Service of the Permanent Mission to the Republic of Armenia and Artsakhbank are not working on Sunday and Saturday. So, we ask you to solve the problem with RMK entrance visa in advance.

Note that you will not be permitted to enter Azerbaijan if you have a Karabakh visa on your passport, so if you plan to visit Azerbaijan request that the visa be left outside the passport. Be aware that entering Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia is considered illegal entry to Azerbaijan – and to do so is effectively committing a crime by Azeri law.

We will be happy to assist you with every procedure at every step of your way according to your requirements.
