PROGRAM
Day 1. Transfer to the hotel - Sightseeing Tour Arrival in Yerevan. Meeting at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. In the morning after breakfast - a sightseeing tour of the capital Yerevan. Excursion to Matenadaran - to the museum-institute of ancient manuscripts and the center of written culture of Armenia. Matenadaran is one of the largest repositories of manuscripts in the world and the largest repository of ancient Armenian manuscripts. After - a walk through the central part of Yerevan: you will see the main square of the country - Republic Square, Northern Avenue, the building of the National Opera and Ballet Theater, Swan Lake. Through Saryan Park, where paintings by local artists are exhibited, we will go to the Cascade complex - another brainchild of Tamanyan, and you will also see a monument to this great architect. Welcome dinner at the national restaurant. Next visit to the museum “Erebuni”. The Museum of the History of the Foundation of the City of Yerevan was built in 1968 at the foot of Arin-Berd Hill, on top of which was the Urartian Citadel Erebuni, the ancient capital of Armenia. This is the earliest and largest urban settlement of the Urartian kingdom, one of the powerful slave states of the Ancient East. Dinner at the restaurant. Walk in the center. Inspection of the singing fountains in the center of Yerevan. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 2. Yerevan - Garni - Geghard - Lake Sevan - Yerevan In the morning after breakfast at the hotel, drive to Garni. Garni Temple is the former residence of Armenian kings, the only surviving pagan temple in Armenia. It is believed that it was built in honor of the ancient God of the Sun. The next point of our tour is no less beautiful holy - the Geghard monastery complex, a unique architectural structure carved in the rock. The complex is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Lunch, baking lavash bread (master class). Then you will see the blue pearl of Armenia - Lake Sevan. Its crystal clear water, clean air, cliffs, wild beaches, slopes densely overgrown with forests, alpine meadows - all this will win your heart. And when you go up to the peninsula to see the churches, breathtaking beauty will be revealed from above. Return to Yerevan. Dinner. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 3. Yerevan - Dilijan - Picnic - Yerevan Breakfast in the hotel. Today you have to get acquainted with the Armenian Switzerland - Dilijan. The city stands out for its traditional Armenian architecture and beautiful nature: the time of discoveries of miracles of Dilijan and its environs. A small tour of the old Dilijan and departure out of town - 18 km from the city of Dilijan, in the wooded valley of the Ijevan ridge, the Haghartsin monastery (11-12th century) is located. The next point of our tour is the Goshavank monastery complex (12-13th century), one of the largest cultural, educational and religious centers of medieval Armenia. Next, a picnic on the shore of Lake “Parz Lich”, which is located in the Dilijan National Park (Tavush region of Armenia), at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level. Return to Yerevan. If desired, visit the entertainment center “Play City”. Dinner. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 4. Etchmiadzin - Sardarapat - Zvartnots In the morning, after breakfast, we set off to get acquainted with the first monument from the UNESCO list - the Etchmiadzin Cathedral, which was built in the 4th century. The Echmiadzin Monastery, one of the witnesses to the most ancient events in the history of Armenia, is the residence of the Catholicos of All Armenians. The monastery was founded in 303, the main cathedral was built in the 7th century, the interior design of the temple dates back to the 17-18th centuries. As one of the oldest monasteries in the world, Echmiadzin is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will also see the temple of St. Hripsime (618), the domed basilica of Gayane (630) with the three-arched gavit (1683), and the church of Shoghakat (1694). All these masterpieces of architecture are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Dinner. Further we will continue the excursion to Sardarapat, the State Museum of Ethnography and the National Liberation Movement of Armenia “Sardarapat”. On the way back - visiting another monument from the UNESCO list - Temple of the Watching Angels - Zvartnots. Return to Yerevan. Free evening. Dinner.
Day 5. Museum of Microminiatures - Vernissage - transfer to the airport After breakfast - visit to a very interesting museum of microminiature named after Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan. The world famous miniature painter Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan is considered the founder of a unique art - miniature art. Edward is a man of phenomenal abilities. He was born in Yerevan, where he received a higher musical education and for many years was one of the leading musicians of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia. In addition to his micro-art and musical talents, Edward was a renowned music innovator, music sculptor and cartoonist. Today, his violins are owned by famous musicians. Each aspect of his life can already serve as a separate biography for, lets say, a famous musician, ophthalmologist, cardiologist or scientist. And these are all different sides of one unique person - Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan. During the tour, we assure you, you will get an unforgettable experience. Then visit the Vernissage market, where you can buy souvenirs, paintings and jewelry at the craftsmen's fair. Lunch. Free time. (If desired, we can add some kind of excursions). Airport transfer.
