The process of Armenian visa issuance is very simple and clear. For entry a foreigner must have valid passport, entry visa or a document of residency status. Foreigners enter the territory of the Republic of Armenian through border-control points.

Visa is not required for the citizens of the following countries holding the mentioned type of passport (based on the principle of reciprocity).
Starting from January 20, 2015 the citizens of the specified countries for whom visa-free regime applies can stay in the territory of the Republic of Armenia up to 180 days per year.

Arrival to Nagorno Karabakh
The entry of foreign citizens to the Nagorno Karabakh Republic is allowed on the availability of valid foreign passports or other documents replacing them, an entrance visa of NKR, with payment of corresponding state customs.
The NKR entrance visas are granted to foreign citizens by the NKR Permanent Mission to the Republic of Armenia. In exceptional cases, the entrance visa can be granted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the NKR in Stepanakert.
Visa support can be rendered also in tour agencies, accredited in the MFA of NKR.
The passport-visa control is placed at the highway Goris-Stepanakert, not far from the village of Aghavno (former Zabukh). Here is realized only the selective check of passport and visa, without the Customs inspection. You can be asked to show only passport and the availability of entry visa to Karabakh. In case of non-availability of the latter you will have to visit the consular department of the Ministry of RMK Foreign Affairs, where you will be given the entry visa within a few minutes.
If you are travelling by taxi or private car into Karabakh consider getting the visa in Yerevan – it is by no means necessary, but it may simplify the process when you enter the country.
Tourist’s visa untill 21 days costs 3.000 AMD
Pay your attention to the fact that the Consular Service of the RMK Ministry of foreign Affairs, the Consular Service of the Permanent Mission to the Republic of Armenia and Artsakhbank are not working on Sunday and Saturday. So, we ask you to solve the problem with RMK entrance visa in advance.
Note that you will not be permitted to enter Azerbaijan if you have a Karabakh visa on your passport, so if you plan to visit Azerbaijan request that the visa be left outside the passport. Be aware that entering Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia is considered illegal entry to Azerbaijan – and to do so is effectively committing a crime by Azeri law.
We will be happy to assist you with every procedure at every step of your way according to your requirements.
