PROGRAM
Day 1.Yerevan
Yerevan –city tour Arrival in Yerevan.You will be met and transferred by your guide to the hotel.
Day 2. Yerevan -«АrmАs» estate
Breakfast at the hotel. You will have a walk in the center of Yerevan. You will see the Republic Square, walk along the North Avenue to the building of the National Opera and Ballet theatre and Swan Lake not far from it and the architectural complex of Cascade. Then you will have a tour to the «АrmАs» winery where you plunge into the enchanting beauty and uniqueness of Armenian culture and hospitality. The vineyards and factory are located near Nor Edesia village in Aragatsotn region. Upon arrival at the estate our tour starts with a walk along hundreds of acres of magnificent vineyards and orchards. Then we continue the excursion around the factory when you get acquainted with wine production process. The tour will end by tasting of premium wines in the tasting hall which overlooks the majestic Mount Ararat. Return to Yerevan. Free evening.
Day 3. Yerevan - Echmiadzin - Zvartnots - Yerevan «Ararat» Brandy Factory
In the morning you will have a trip to Echmiadzin where you will visit the Holy Mother Cathedral of Etchmiadzin, also St. Gayane, St. Hripsime and Shoghakat Churches. Lunch in Echmiadzin. On the way back you will see the ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site). After returning to Yerevan you will visit one of the most famous brandy factories in Armenia. You will get acquainted with the history of cognac and the factory, and taste the best sorts of brandy. Return to the hotel. Free evening. We recommend to visit the Singing/dancing Fountains on Republic Square.
Day 4. Yerevan - Khor Virap -Noravank - Areni - «Zorach Karas» - Yerevan
After breakfast at the hotel you will leave for the monastery of Khor Virap, where an incredible view of the Biblical Mount Ararat opens. According to the legend, after landing on Mount Ararat the first thing Noah did he planted grape vine and got wine. The next destination is Noravank (13-14c ) monastery, the pearl of medieval Armenian architecture among unique red rocks. Next destination is Areni village. It is here, in the Areni wine-growing region, that the famous Areni red wine is produced - from the local grape of the same name. In one of local wineries you will taste wine. Lunch at a local restaurant. The last point of our excursion day is a visit to the legendary Zorah Karas winery in the village of Rind. In 2012, Zorah Karasi Areni Noir wine entered the top ten best wines in the world according to the authoritative Bloomberg Businessweek. Bloomberg distinguished this wine from 4,000 other wines because of its unique aroma and delicate taste. Return to Yerevan
Day 5. Yerevan - Matenadaran- «Armenia Wine» -Yerevan
Breakfast in the hotel. First you will have an excursion to the Matenadaran, the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, which is one of the largest repositories of manuscripts in the world and the largest repository of ancient Armenian manuscripts. Then - Visit to «Armenia wine» factory located in Aragtsotn region, Sasunik village. «Armenia Wine» is a family owned company, created by the passion towards the homeland, its culture and nature. Started with vineyards plantation in 2006, the winery was created in 2008. Nowadays, the company is the icon of modern winemaking of Armenia with its award winning wines and a «state of the art winery». The excursion around the factory and wine tasting will finish our tour day. Return to Yerevan.
Day 6. Yerevan-Airport
Transfer to the airport for your departure. Depending on the time of your flight, you can visit Vernissage - the open-air exhibition – market full of souvenirs, paintings, hand-made things of wood and ceramics.
