Erebuni Museum

The museum was built in honor of the city of Erebuni in 1968, at the foot of the Arin-Berd hill, where valuable unique examples of Urartu culture are exhibited. Erebuni was the most important political, economic and cultural center. They say that the name of Yerevan comes from "Erebuni". The city was built by the king of the state of Urartu - Argishti I in 782 BC, as evidenced by the Khorkhor cuneiform and two others identical to it, found on Arin-Berd hill.

The museum territory includes the remains of the fortress walls of Erebuni and a partial reconstruction of some of the halls of the royal palace, located under the open sky, behind the main building of the museum, on a hilltop.

You can visit the Erebuni Museum from Tuesday to Sunday.
