On our tour, we covered the most interesting places in Armenia and Artsakh: you will see the place where Christianity originated - Khor Virap monastery, the outstanding monuments of Armenian architecture of the Middle Ages - Noravank and Gandzasar, the breathtaking beauty of Tatev and the Unot gorge in Shushi, touch the centuries - old history of Garni and Geghard, Airivan and Askeran Fortress, you will feel like a medieval merchant who traveled along the Great Silk Road and stayed in the Caravan - Shed of Selim.

 


PROGRAM

 

Day 1: Yerevan Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport. Meeting and transfer to the hotel of your choice. After accommodation and relaxation, you will have a walk in the evening Yerevan and a welcoming dinner in the restaurant. Return to the hotel.

 

Day 2. Yerevan - Khor Virap - Noravank - Tatev - Goris /overnight/ In the morning after breakfast you will go to the Khor Virap monastery and you will see the magnificent panorama of the symbol of our people - Mount Ararat. Further through the red cliffs to the Noravank monastery. After lunch, in a cozy roadside cafe, arrive in the village of Halidzor, where you take the longest cable car in the world, “Wings of Tatev”, and head to the Tatev monastery complex. You will never forget the beauty of the Vorotan Gorge when you look down. Arrival in Goris and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for the night.

 

Day 3. Goris - Shushi - Stepanakert /overnight/ In the morning, the excursion from Goris will continue in Artsakh - Shushi, where you will see the Surb Amenaprkich Cathedral Kazanchetsots - the main temple of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Shushi. It is located in the city center on the top of a plateau and is certainly beautiful! The next church that you look at in Shushi is Kanach Zham (Green Church). Next, we will drive to the Unot gorge, where you will enjoy the view of the waterfall, popularly called Umbrellas. Arrival in Stepanakert. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation and rest.

 

Day 4. Stepanakert (City tour) - Ganzdasar - Askeran fortress - Stepanakert /overnight/ City tour of Stepanakert. You will see the symbol of Artsakh and the visiting card of the city - the monument “We Are Our Mountains”, popularly called “Papic Tatik” (Grandparents), as well as the Church of St. James - the new church, which opened on May 6, 2007. Next, a trip to the Martakert region to the village of Vank to see the Gandzasar Monastery (11-13th century), an outstanding monument of Armenian culture, the existing monastery of the Armenian Apostolic Church. According to Armenian folk tradition, the monastery got its name after the mountain, which the locals called Gandzasar, because of the silver mines in it (according to the Armenian Gandz - a treasure, sar - a mountain). We will also visit the Askeran fortress, located among the mountains in the gorge, 16-17 km from Stepanakert. Return to Stepanakert, hotel.

 

Day 5. Stepanakert - Caravan - Shed of Selim –Airavank –Yerevan In the morning after breakfast, we return to Yerevan through the Selim Pass. You will also see the Selim Caravan - Shed (14c), which provided lodging for caravans that traveled through Armenia, usually to Europe and the East. The Selim Caravan - Shed is located on the Great Silk Road connecting East Asia with the Mediterranean. Inspection of Ayrivank. Arrival in Yerevan, hotel.

 

Day 6. Yerevan (Vernissage) - Garni - Geghard In the morning, before going to Garni and Geghard, we will visit Vernissage, an open-air craft trade fair, where you will see all the colors of Armenia in one place. A wide selection of souvenirs from Armenia for friends. In the afternoon, a trip to Garni, a pagan temple built in the 1st century, lunch and an excursion to Geghard, a monastery complex, is included in the UNESCO cultural heritage list. Return to Yerevan.

 

Day 7. Yerevan Airport Depending on your departure, you can go to the central market of Yerevan, where you must buy a lot of goodies - dried or fresh fruits, nuts.
